Founded in 2010 by Al Mobbs, Mobbs Music is a bringing together of many years of experience and collaboration into one company. In an ever evolving music industry where the rules are constantly rewritten we approach everything individually. Every project is unique. Whether it be a concert, release or long term strategy we will deliver efficient results that fit your budget.

Company director and founder Al Mobbs:

Al Mobbs is a musician, promoter, manager and label boss.

In 2008 he founded the development label Ambiguous Records to help nurture new artists. Highlights have included sessions and plays on BBC radio and XFM, a development program for Sony Records and national press coverage. One to watch for the indie stars of the future said the Sunday Express. Ambiguous Records now an imprint on Mobbs Music have curated nights at the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scotts, the Natural History Museum and for Tom Robinson’s BBC6 two year birthday celebrations.

Since graduating from the Royal College of Music in 2001 Al has worked as a player, writer and producer for artists ranging from Damon Albarn to Emma Kirkby. His songs saw over one million plays last year and his work has been used by the BBC and Sky.

Last year year saw the release of Machaca’s second album produced by Al which was launched at the Purcell Room in April and Claire Tchaikowski’s debut co-produced with Mike Hedges. (Dido, Travis, U2) In June 2010 Mobbs Music was proud to promote a concert at the London O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in honour of Tom Robinson’s 60th Birthday and  Save 6 Music. The event brought together 6 Music DJs and leading independent artists and labels of today from Rough Trade to Beggars and Franz Ferdinand to Toumane Diabaté. 2011 is already turning out to be an exciting year with two artists featured in HMV’s Next Big Thing, radio sessions on BBC and XFM and new material from James Pearson (Ronnie Scotts) and Alice Gun (Ambiguous Records).

Ambiguous Records is a label member of The Association of Independent Music (AIM) where Al was recently elected as a director on the board.
